Workshop
How to Publish a Children’s Book and a Non-Fiction Book
Whether writing for children and young adults or developing nonfiction for the commercial market, success depends on more than creativity and writing style—it requires a strong understanding of the business of publishing. For children’s books, this includes identifying the appropriate category—such as chapter books, middle grade, or young adult—defining the target readership, and understanding key themes. It also involves researching suitable literary agents and publishers, and learning how to effectively approach them. Similar principles apply to the ever-evolving nonfiction market.
This session will be led by author of How to Publish Your Children’s Book, 2nd Edition and nearly 40 children’s books. She has guided aspiring writers and publishers in navigating the complexities of their respective book industries and achieving publication success. This presentation is offered in collaboration with Bangla School of Virginia. Books will be available for purchase.
